PCF: PSA screening remains valuable tool for identifying potential prostate disease

Responding to continued debate over PSA screening, and today’s American Cancer Society statement, the Prostate Cancer Foundation reiterated its position that PSA screening remains a valuable tool, in combination with other tools, for identifying potential prostate disease, including cancer.

CPEX Pharmaceuticals' fourth-quarter 2009 revenues up 23%

CPEX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2009. For the quarter CPEX reported revenues of $5.2 million and a net loss of $498,000. For the year CPEX reported revenues of $18.7 million and a net loss of $3.0 million.

Focal therapy for localized prostate cancer: US HIFU announces intention to fund multi-center trial

US HIFU, a world leader in minimally invasive high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technologies and manufacturer of the Sonablate® 500 medical device, has announced its intention to fund a landmark multi-center trial to study focal therapy for localized prostate cancer.
